The Tecno Camon C7 being the most sought device, also trending as The Camon C9 Mini isn’t a slouch on the spec sheet, basically sharing the same SoC found on the C8, an ARM based 64bit chip clocked at 1.3GHz, but it is just now we are seeing it in action on a smaller screen with more RAM to play with.
MediaTek offers the quardcore 64-bit processor with all four Cortex-A53 cores, a Mali T720 GPU and 2GB of RAM. The Camon C7, just like the predecessor the C5, packs a 5.0″ HD display. Being us, we decided to go shopping on the Play Store for the usual Benchmark tools any geek would recommend. We went for Antutu, Geekbench 3 and Quadrant 3 and here are the results.
A single core score of 623 won’t exactly blow anything out of the water but then again the top scoring devices cost a buttload more that the expected RRP for the C7 so its a little hard to complain on that one. Besides, there are notable names around the same score like say the Galaxy S4 which not too long ago was the pinnacle of mobile performance and is still very relevant and popular while also kicking ass and that to me is some decent performance.
On the multi core side is where thing heat up a little, almost tripling the single core score at 1845, that is pretty impressive but still nowhere near those of the mainstream flagship but then again, it would not be fair to compare those two. In day to day life you won’t really feel this difference anyway as single core operations on phones basically take care of business when the device is idling so maybe that is a good thing because maybe that would imply an SoC that’s easy on your battery.
There you have it folks. Let me know if there’s any other benchmark tool you would like to see the results for and any other thing you would like to know about the Camon C7. Stay tuned for more on this device.
